MAXTRAX America is interested in hosting a "Class 11 World Championships" this season.

The premise is this:

Pick 3 or 4 races this season that are affordable, yet push the 11 cars and drivers to the limits. all while having fun and provide incentive to the teams to compete in this epic venture.

Proposed races include: Start the season with a bang (well a thud at least) VORRA short course at Wild West World in Reno, then the RECORD Ensenada to San Felipe or a CODE summer race, followed by the Powder Puff (gonna need your ladies for this series guys!), and a final championship at either BAP, RATR, or if the stars align just right the 1000.

The idea is to get some CODE and RECORD guys up here and some US guys to CODE and RECORD and do itl without breaking the bank. Really get the 11 cars some proper competition going on.

Note: Each race will be subject to it's own league tech inspectors so no crying about lax inspection in MX. You can always challenge the winner if you know how to check the car in post tech. This is going to be the Gumball Rally of 11 Cars with short course, pink tutu's, small leagues and all. You will be pushed to your limits if you choose to enter.

Determine a real season champ awarded by 11 racers to 11 racers.

Details are undetermined but to work it would probably go something like this: Those who wish to enter the series pay a series entry fee (say $500 for conversations sake). They would agree to at least make a start at each race and run a few additional small "contingency" sized decals for series sponsors (don't let big dollar signs flash in your eyes here, only one small one on board other than Maxtrax) and a series decal. Upon entry, each team would receive a set of Maxtrax in their color choice (value $300) and a schwag bag of shirts, steekers for the fans, and hopefully some proper gear from sponsors. PrincetonTec has expressed an interest in providing mil spec headlamps and flashlights, things of this nature. Other sponsors in the works. So your entry schwag bag should be worth almost as much as the fee and useful for the season.

But the money doesn't go to Maxtrax, it goes toward a few minimal printing costs for a banner etc. but mostly the racers! There will be a 50% payout to the winner in the form of aa custom bling bracelet that says "CLASS 11 WORLD CHAMP". Think gold, diamonds, and the WSOP here, or as one astute commentator noted, the WSOB (World Series of Bugs),a 20% payout to 2nd, 10% payout to 3rd (that's 80% payout to racers, unheard of). Maxtrax is putting in the first $500 for entry #1.

Concessions with race promoters are being negotiated now for group rate entries and a moderate service trailer with generator, compressor, jacks, some tools, etc. will be provided by Maxtrax to "lighten the load" for the series entrants. So the money part should be a win for the racers all around. Save money on races and logistics, a series tailored and promoted for them, light mechanical support, and additional money (in addition to normal race winnings from leagues) and prizes up for grabs in a four race series stretching from Reno to San Felipe. TT drivers, media, videos, and at least one fundraiser can be expected so come prepared to have fun. Races are also being vetted on being family and camp friendly.

All this is open to conversation, suggestions, and just being developed, but it is being planned NOW! Please share your opinions, especially on what races you think make the most sense. Keep in mind the promoters have to be willing to play ball and the courses have to be 11 car friendly so we aren't shelling motors and tranny's every race and we can't get every race we want so we have to make it work and play ball a bit ourselves.

Very hopeful that the community likes this idea.

Let the ideas rip, we're all ears!

Thanks Racers!

KC Steiner, Maxtrax America (and yes, we will be putting our money where our mouth is and fielding at least one car, if not two or three!)

Promoters and media are interested in this! It would be good for Class 11! A Class 11 World Championship or WSOB (World Series of Bugs). People are tired of just seeing trophy trucks.......

Proposed races (based largely on promoters and sponsors willingness to direct incentives towards the class 11 pot) include Caliente, a CODE or RECORD race to San Felipe, maybe the Powder Puff as an extra points race, a VORRA short course race in Reno, and a championship at BAP or RATR. Already have a guaranteed pot of $200 (courtesy Three Amigos Racing) and 1 free set of Maxtrax (value $300) in addition to normal winnings committed and some "feature" contingency money from promoters for the individual races. Lots more sponsorship in the works..... A championship bracelet would be a $100 or $200 side pot for the season with a 100% payout that includes a fine dinner at a yet unannounced and unlocated "awards" ceremony (FEDEX a steak and bracelet to your shop anyone :)

Who's interested and what are some races you would like to see included? Criteria #1 is CHEAP entry fees, #2 must mix US and MX races and encourage cross border competition in Class 11, #3 Must be fun and family friendly.

Side pot for a bling bracelet proclaiming your badness to the world as the WSOB (World Series of Bugs) Champ. Laugh now, cry with envy when you see it!

Input please! Sponsors? Good media opportunities for the teams and sponsors and Class 11 in general.

The latest on the WORLD SERIES OF BUGS:

What: A four race "World Series of Bugs" for Class 11 cars that covers the spectrum both geographically and stylistically. Promoters and sponsors have committed to EXTRA prize money and contingency gear for the WSOB and pots should be increased accordingly with more entries. Some improved entry fees have been negotiated, and races will have higher and deeper payouts. Three Amigos Racing (a series entrant) has committed to $200 cash add on to the purse. Maxtrax is committed to sets of Maxtrax for the top four finishers at each race, PrincetonTec is looking at providing mil-spec flashlights and headlamps, promoters are securing "feature" class money and prizes, and several other sponsors are in the works. The league promoters are all on board and anxious to see the "tortugas" come race. There will be a season long side bet of $150 per team to pay for a "WSOB 2015" bracelet. To be eligible you must run a decal for the series and Maxtrax and pay the side bet. The awards ceremony will be hosted by CODE in San Felipe at season end after the last race.

Schedule:

SNORE Battle at Primm, Feb 20-21: Starting off with a bang at a classic loop race most teams are already planning on attending.

SNORE Caliente, NV, May 29-30: Classic long loop race that is super family friendly and a good challenge for the 11 cars, watch out for OMG hill!

VORRA, Reno, NV Oct 3. Short Course Epic location, different style, should be a hoot.

CODE Mexicali to San Felipe Dec.4-5. Open Desert Point to Point. Awards banquet hosted by CODE afterwards on the beach.

These are the promoters that stepped forward and were kind enough to help make it happen so let the entries begin! Email me for specific details about purses, entry fees, etc.

Still looking for input, but these were the races that seemed to make sense and the time is here! This is not designed to be an annual series but more of a once every 5 years type of thing so don't miss out.

That's kind of what I was thinking. A small (or large if you want) Maxtrax decal and a cool series decal proclaiming to the world you are in the chase. If you are deeply opposed to running a decal it's not like totally mandatory or anything. Just appreciated :)
