I've got a line on a '69 that someone got halfway to Baja-ing, cutting the back clip out.

I see in the various rules (SCORE/SNORE/etc.) they are very specific on what body modifications are allowed but silent on what kind of repairs are legal.

Would it be possible to make such a care 11 legal again... and would you have to transplant a clip from a similar year to do it, or could you weld in some sheet metal, attach an apron and drop in some (not wider / no competitive advantage) fenders for a 6-foot match?

Also, I see no alterations to the floor pans are allowed.

How does this affect rot repairs?
Do you have to use "pan" looking parts / what level of welding cut and paste would be allowed (some of which might be stronger than the stock sheetmetal)?

Thanks!

Find an uncut one. Will be much easier I think.

Pan repairs. You could probably get away with some small patch work, otherwise just buy a new pan section.

I'm getting that feeling, I didn't realize I'd have to match the year exactly (was thinking 68-70 would work).
I'll leave the chopped '69 for someone who is building a Baja.

With the cut '69 off the table I'll have to see what the surprises the next candidates holds under/behind the rear seat  .

Thanks.
