The cam will depend on what it is you want your motor to do, where you want it to make power, and how it is built(compression ratio, air intake etc.) You can run either single or dual port heads. Only thing you can really do to the heads is flycut them for compression. No porting or polishing allowed.

also, upgrade to ss valves and HD springs. Bolt together rocker shafts, etc. Standard pistons, case cut for compression, heads cut for compression, etc.

Flat cam Gears, HD Oil pump, Total Seal Piston Rings, Forged Pistons, chromoly retainer for valve springs, swivel feet valve adjusters, High performance Lifter set, Lightened Flywheel, etc.
All those parts are Class 11 legal and will make your engine competitive.
