michaelbrenner wrote: DaveCo said it! Once we connected the top and bottom tubes to each other and added the diagonal brace on the bottom we have not had anymore issues. I'm not sure that was the only reason though, I have been hitting less stuff too! I put the outer clamp all the way out to the end past the zerk fitting and then also put a diagonal brace onto that on the bottom. Top tune in beam didn't seem to bend, bottom takes a lot of punishment. Ditch those bushings, you should be running stock roller bearings, WAY smoother action!

How about some pics! That's the one thing this site lacks imo. We need more pics. Some in the older posts do not work anymore.

DaveCo11 wrote: not the tinniest crack break or anything of the kind. I look but everything is fine. I see nothing wrong with where your clamping your beam, that general area is fine. Why the wanna be ??Mint??. The more they try to copy the genuine Mint the farther away it becomes in my opinion.. The entree numbers alone make it just a also ran race on the calender and what are they going to make you do, run sportsman? Just asking, I have 5 genuine Mint wins 2 with M Van Ells in class 11 3 in 51600. I see BITD? treating you 11 racers as second class citizens pushing class 11 into something class 11 has never been, a sportsman low miles mix in. This is no knock on any of you that are going to this race but the way I see them treating you. Class 11 has always been a pro class and has always been run that way. Good luck to you

Well may be I need to work on driving smoother. I feel like I am doing good but I will work on it. I can read the desert with the best of them with years of bike racing at the expert level. But I'm sure that's part of it.

Short course racing in VORRA at Prairie City is also a culprit. Those races are harder on our car than any desert race. Pinned and lots of square edge stuff.

The Mint? Our team just thinks it might be fun to check out the scene at a high profile race and all the hoopla. Just to do something different.

I have a solid mount for my trans on the back and will use the straps in the middle. How about the nose mount? What did you do? Can I do it solid, stock rubber or any better solution? Pics would be helpfull, too. I only found the "project baja" solution.

Yes, use a solid mount in the front and rear. Skip the strap, add a mid-mount plate. Internet search! If you've added a torsion adjuster you need to fabricate a front mount onto the chassis. CIP1 used to sell the replacement mounting bracket that you can modify to weld onto your torsion adjuster to achieve the stock mounting location for the front. 2 bolt or 3 bolt front mount doesn't matter if you have a midmount plate! You'll have to communciate your intention to use the mid mount with your trans builder so they remove the studs in the intermediate housing so you can use bolts instead.

I'm so stupid... I bought a mid-mount already from Kartek. :silly:

I have a torsion adjuster in. Is it a 2 pce mount on the nose cone? I could not find the CIP1. Does anybody have a pic of the CIP1?

I have to do most of the trans modifications by myself. Do I have to drill the studs out or are they glued and screwed in?

Adjuster is in:

Is this the midmount I should use? Nuts must be changed into bolts, I know.

how many different transcases are out there? Is it a good Idea to make a nose mount which is changeable for the 2 and 3 bolt?

You may want to add some more support to the stop on your beam.

Using the "mid-mount" negates the need for a "front trans" mount ........ ;)

I thought mid mounts were not legal.

We just ran the stock mount with an EMPI strap mount with no problems. Many machine off a 1/8" from the nose cone and use the plate. Perhaps Dave Co can elaborate on this rule.

Bolting a mid mount is ok, machining the case to put it in the trans is not legal. Good luck

sorry I took a rest for some other race car project and some racing. But I'm back on the C11. Brakes are rebuilt and the floor pans are in. Also some body work on the rear is done. Cage is next.
