Hello Everyone, I have a quick question I'd like a answer for . I'm building a class 11 (very slowly) and would just like to clarify something in the rules I have a 73 that is ball joint front and swing axle back, I don't know if these cars were shipped to the states. just would like to know if this is going to be problematic. Thanks

So which is less likely to be protested , swapping the pan for a 1970 irs pan or welding in mounts for irs . i can't find my score rule book.

You have a Mexican Beetle. I believe you race it in Code Races.

You need to find a 69 or later american pan. To be completely legal, Model year body should be the same as model year pan but the rules do state you can replace the chassis parts from 69 on cars.

Or... find a 67 or 68 body for that pan. I'd personally go the IRS route for a race car.

Depends on where he races. He has a standard Mexican Beetle. They were swing much longer than American. I would see no problem with him racing his 11 car as long as it meets the spirit of the rules- i.e.- That is how it came from the factory. If he races in Mexico at Code, Record, SCORE, etc... It would be absolutely legal. If SNORE or MORE were not allowing it, That would be a bummer.

If you're gonna go, go big!

Yes, I think after Score rule change the car should be legal. The car is actually a Canadian car , like Mexico, Canada had many swing axle cars after 1968.
Progress is slow so I still have time to switch things up.
