Hi all
Dumb question of the day :)

What is the minimum required tire size for a 70 Beetle to get around on the dunes without getting stuck, I am sure I will be running up and down some small hills but nothing big.

Does anybody know what is the maximum tire size that will fit on a stock 70 standard Beetle with fenders and not rub when used for mild off roading ?

Thanks

you should just lift it. then you could fit a 235/75/15. i have a link pin/swing axle beetle lifted one outer spline and beam turned 9/16. thats what i run.

From our racing experience, we first ran 215/75/15 tires and as long as you flatten the fender edges these tires will clear no problem. Now we're running 235/75/15 ,fronts are ok(we have limiters) but rear tires will rub inside top before spring plate upper stop contact,Have to install bump stop to limit body/tire contact. Also have not tried 225 size tire, might be a possibility ?
